The Best Strategy For The Fight And Returning The Quest
As you play through Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed, you'll encounter quests that improve different areas and give you access to new facilities. The Abandoned Supplies quest helps you upgrade the accessory shop in Colony 9, allowing you to pick the best ones for your party and improve their stats for upcoming battles.

However, getting through the quest poses challenges, so you'll want to know the necessary steps. Even though you don't need to finish the quest to beat the game, accessing the new area and gaining Affinity Growth points can make the effort worth it.
Starting The Abandoned Supplies Quest And Reaching The Supplies
You should visit the Central Plaza in Colony 9. You'll encounter an exclamation point that starts the quest. Peridot and Eow give this quest, so talk with them. Once you speak with them, you can go to the location to get the Abandoned Supplies.
You must visit the Elevator Upper Landing Landmark in the Aurora Shelf. Once you arrive, you'll travel southeast. If you reach the Pilgrims' Rest Remains, continue heading south. You'll encounter a ladder, so either climb it or hop down to the area below it.
If you're the proper level for this quest, at least level 33, you won't die from the fall.
If you're facing away from the ladder, you'll see a cave to your left, so enter it.
In this area, you'll encounter the supplies and a cutscene. However, you'll soon discover that the supplies have monsters around them, so you must defeat them to complete the mission.

Preparing For The Fight
Even though it's a level 36 mission, you can win this battle easily if your party is at least level 33.
Also, if you haven't already, earn enough Affinity Points to fill out the first section of your Affinity Tree. Not only will your Arts be more powerful, but the passive abilities of your characters will make the fight easier.
After that, you'll need reliable equipment for your characters. Your characters will have a mix of one or two accessories and a single gem slot, so you'll want to use a mixture of the following equipment to help you with the fight.
Character | Accessories | Gems |
---|---|---|
Matthew | Armring to boost damage and Headgear to increase his critical hit rate. | Accurate Grace to help Matthew land more hits. |
A | Choker to reduce her Aggro while healing and Gloves to boost her evasion. | Disperse Bloodlust to lower A's Aggro, so she doesn't go down in a fight. |
Nikol | Protector to increase his block rate while low on health and Feather to build continuous Aggro. | Brimming Spirit to help Nikol generate and maintain Aggro. |
Glimmer | Cameo to restore more of Glimmer's health, so she'll stay alive, and Necklace to help her heal more. | Lifesaving Expertise to let Glimmer revive characters faster while offering better healing. |
Shulk | Vambraces to boost his Aggro and Misanga to increase his evasion and dodging while low on health. | Tailwind to help Shulk have higher Agility, so he'll work as a dodge tank. |
Rex | Necklace to reduce Rex's Aggro and Headgear to boost his critical hit rate. | Analyze Weakness to boost Rex's critical hit damage. |
As for your Unity Skills and Unity Combos, you'll want to go with Matthew and Glimmer, A and Nikol, and Shulk and Rex. This combo will give you access to Smash for damage while offering Blowdown as needed. As a bonus, you'll only target a single enemy during your Unity Combo, so you won't attract more monsters as you fight.
As for your Unity Skills, they help you with survivability while boosting your damage. You'll deal more damage with Matthew, Glimmer, Shulk, and Rex, while Matthew, Glimmer, A, and Nikol will also boost your Block Rate and Evasion to stay alive.
If you're level 35, this build will work since you're dealing with level 36 enemies, making Shulk and Rex's Unity Skill take effect. If you're level 36, pair A with Rex and Nikol with Shulk to boost your Topple and Launch damage while reducing your damage and increasing your healing.

The Best Strategy For The Fight And Returning The Quest
You'll notice that you won't draw all the monsters' attention at the start of the fight. If you target enemies on the right side, with your back facing the exit, you can start with a single enemy and work your way around. Since you have single-target Unity Combos, you don't have to worry about drawing all four of their attention during the fight.
However, you still need to transition to the next enemy. Before defeating an enemy, you should target the next closest one. That way, your party will defeat the previous enemy and transition to the next. This helps you maintain your Chain Attack meter, so you'll use a Chain Attack against the next foe. You'll take them down faster and go through the battle.
You should play as either A or Glimmer to use your healing skills more efficiently. After all, if your Defenders get low on health, you want to position your healers to reach them, so play as these characters to make the fight easier.
You only have four foes to defeat. If you struggle to win with this setup, don't worry: level up a bit and return. Even a single level up can make the difference in fights, so you can either fight enemies or go to a Rest Spot to train.
Once you defeat the enemies, you'll get another cutscene explaining that you must meet Eow and Peridot back at Colony 9. All you have to do is fast-travel to the Ether Light in Colony 9, step forward, watch a cutscene, and you'll finish the quest.
Upon doing so, you'll unlock more accessories at the store alongside some experience, gold, Silver Earrings, and a Devotional Necklace.
